The Land paintings contemplate the multitude of beings, both seen and unseen, that inhabit a place and the ways they are interconnected. Each body of work emerges from the particular landscapes where I was living and traveling, allowing the visual language to shift in response to the influences, rhythms, and sensibilities of each place. From Pennsylvania to Nepal and Bhutan, the paintings may look radically different, but share an underlying interest in the interconnectedness of sentient life and the ways a place can shape how that interconnectedness is perceived.
